Abeline, TX — The University of St. Thomas softball program was well represented in the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason awards, highlighted by a major individual honor and multiple All-SCAC selections that reflect the Celts' strong season.
Leading the way for St. Thomas was first-year outfielder Kianah Johnson, who was named the SCAC First-Year Player of the Year after making an immediate impact in her debut campaign. Johnson emerged as a consistent presence in the lineup, finishing the regular season with a .339 batting average while elevating her performance in conference play with a .380 mark. Defensively, she was just as reliable, recording a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with no errors and totaling 28 putouts. Her efforts played a key role in helping St. Thomas secure a top seed heading into the SCAC Tournament.
In addition to Johnson's recognition, St. Thomas placed three student-athletes on the All-SCAC First Team. Sophomore first baseman Samantha Crumrin earned the honor after delivering a strong season at the plate while holding down a key defensive position. Junior pitcher Victoria Sossaman also secured First Team honors following a standout year in the circle, where she consistently gave the Celts an opportunity to compete and was recognized among the conference's top pitchers.
The Celts added two more selections on the All-SCAC Second Team. Senior catcher Chloe Bennett was honored for her work behind the plate and timely hitting throughout the season, while sophomore third baseman Ciaira Gonzalez earned recognition for her contributions on both offense and defense.

St. Thomas' depth was further highlighted with multiple Honorable Mention selections. Alongside Johnson, sophomore outfielder Savana Henken, senior pitcher Allison Hughes, junior infielder Viviana Vargas, Junior shortstop Gigi Rivera, and sophomore utility player Ana Zozaya were all recognized for their efforts during the season.
