ABILENE, TX - The University of St. Thomas' softball team was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 5–0 to Concordia University Texas during the 2026 Softball SCAC Championships. The Celts battled throughout but were limited offensively as Concordia capitalized on key opportunities.
Concordia opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with an RBI single, taking a 1–0 lead.
The Tornados extended their advantage in the top of the third inning with a big offensive surge, plating four runs on the combination of a sacrifice fly, a two-run double, and another RBI double to build a 5–0 lead.
St. Thomas continued to compete defensively and worked to generate offense, but was unable to break through against Concordia's pitching.
Despite the effort, the Celts were held scoreless as Concordia secured the 5–0 victory.
