HOUSTON, TX – The University of St. Thomas women's tennis team delivered a commanding performance at Lee LeClear Tennis Center, sweeping Texas Lutheran University 7-0. The Celts continued their strong conference play with a dominant showing on their home courts.
UST controlled doubles play from the start, earning the point with a clean sweep. Lucia Rodriguez and Mariel Herrera led with a flawless 6-0 victory, while Aimee Tran and Adriana Iturralde followed with a 6-3 win. Ella Mullins and Nataly Velasco capped off doubles with a 6-2 victory.
The Celts carried that momentum into singles, winning all six matches in convincing fashion. Lucia Rodriguez and Ella Mullins each dominated their matches with identical 6-0, 6-1 wins. Mariel Herrera added a steady 6-3, 6-3 victory, while Nataly Velasco secured a 6-2, 6-1 win. Adriana Iturralde was nearly perfect with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep, and Marlie McArthur closed out the match with a strong 6-2, 6-2 performance.
