HOUSTON, TX – University of St. Thomas junior Corey Thompson has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15.
The Houston native delivered a standout weekend performance, averaging 24.0 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field to lead the Celts to a 2-0 record. Thompson totaled 48 points across the two contests, knocked down five three-pointers, and was nearly automatic at the free throw line, finishing 15-of-17 (88.2 percent).
In addition to his scoring efforts, Thompson contributed across the board with 12 rebounds and seven assists, impacting the game on both ends of the floor.
The honor marks Thompson's second offensive weekly award of the season and the third conference weekly recognition of his career.
St. Thomas now looks to close out the regular season strong as they clinch the #1 Seed spot for conference Tournament and regular season SCAC Champions
