Alexis Bodunrin, a junior outside hitter from Tomball, Texas, has been named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for matches played August 29 – September 1.Â
Bodunrin powered the Celts to a perfect 4-0 start to the season with a dominant showing at the net. She finished the weekend with a league-leading 64 kills, averaging an impressive 4.57 kills per set to lead all SCAC players.Â
Her standout performance came in the Celts' win over Mary Hardin-Baylor, where she tallied a career-high 27 kills—a mark that ties for the sixth-most in SCAC history for a four-set match. She reached double figures in kills in three of the four matches, highlighting her consistency as an offensive leader.Â
In total, Bodunrin posted a .301 hitting percentage and racked up 71.5 points for the weekend, cementing her role as a driving force behind UST's early-season success.Â
With her explosive start, Bodunrin not only set the tone for the Celts but also made an early statement as one of the top offensive threats in the conference.Â
The Celts are now gearing up to compete in Montgomery, Ala., looking to build on their strong opening weekend and carry that momentum into their upcoming matches.
