HOUSTON,TX--St. Thomas defender Asanah Gordon has earned SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for her standout play from September 8–14.

The first-year from Baytown, Texas, was a force in the back line, starting both matches and leading a Celt defense that recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2024. Thanks to Gordon's composure and ability to shut down opposing attacks, St. Thomas limited opponents to just five total shots, one shot on goal, and a single corner kick across 180 minutes of play.

Behind Gordon's effort, the Celts picked up two wins on the week and pushed their record to 2-1-2, building momentum early in the season with a defense that looks tougher every match.
