ABILENE, TX – St. Thomas's Women's Soccer team wrapped up their weekend road trip with a competitive match-up against conference opponent McMurry University at Elmer Gray Stadium. After back-and-forth action, the Celts and War Hawks battled to a 0-0 draw. With the result, UST moves to 4-1-3 overall and 1-0-1 in SCAC play.
The first half made it clear both teams came prepared for a tightly contested match. St. Thomas and McMurry traded shot attempts as each side tried to find a break through in the half. Celts' attackers

Nicole Cruzco, and
Mary-Ilyse Lehmann each tested the McMurry defense with close shots on goal, but the scoreboard remained untouched. UST entered halftime with the score at 0-0.
Coming out of the break, the Celts looked to pick up the tempo and strike first.
Emma Cerda continued to find an opportunity to make an attack, while
Amy Romero fired off two on-target shots to have McMurry feel the pressure. In the closing minutes, freshman
Sydney Ferguson nearly put the Celts ahead with the final attempt of the half, but McMurry held strong. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with UST showing resilience and refusing to let the War Hawks steal a win.
The Celts continue to demonstrate persistence as they move through their conference line-up, determined to build momentum and make a statement this season.
