HOUSTON – The University of St. Thomas baseball program has announced the hiring of Brandt Wood as Assistant Coach. Wood arrives with a track record of offensive success and record-setting seasons at his previous stops.

A native of Joshua, Texas, Wood spent last season as an assistant at Dallas College Mountain View. There, the Lions had the most successful season in school history, setting the program record for wins in a single season and winning the first postseason game in school history. Working directly with the hitters, Wood helped the Mountain View offense rank 9th nationally in total bases and 14th in extra-base hits.

Before Mountain View, Wood spent three years at LeTourneau University. In 2025, he was part of the staff that earned ASC Coaching Staff of the Year as LeTourneau claimed a share of the ASC regular season title for the first time in program history. Wood oversaw player development both on the field and in strength and conditioning.

During his three years in Longview, LeTourneau produced 34 All-ASC selections, including a program-record 17 in 2025. The Yellow Jackets also set school records for runs scored, home runs, RBI, extra-base hits, walks, hit by pitches, and stolen bases.
