AUSTIN, TX – St. Thomas' baseball team opened with an early lead, but a big middle-inning surge by the Tornados proved to be the difference in a 7–3 loss. Despite strong moments at the plate and early momentum, the Celts were unable to slow Concordia's offensive push in the later innings, moving St. Thomas to 16-22 overall on the season and 14-16 in conference.
The Celts jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning as Tyler Mills hit an RBI tripled to right center field, scoring Rey Izaguirre, giving St. Thomas a 1–0 lead.
Concordia evened the score in the bottom of the third, but the Celts answered in the top of the fourth. Jon Torres hit an RBI single to bring home Sam Lampson, putting St. Thomas back in the lead at 2–1.
The Tornados responded in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run single to take a 3–2 lead and then broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth inning with a four-run inning to extend the advantage to 7–2.
St. Thomas added a run in the top of the ninth inning when Justin Ogle reached on an error that allowed Izaguirre to score, but the Celts were unable to complete the comeback victory. This game concludes St. Thomas's baseball season.
