SAN ANTONIO – Competing on Mother's Day at the Trinity Last Chance Meet, the University of St. Thomas Men's Track & Field team delivered multiple postseason-worthy performances, led by a standout effort from junior Matthew Hicks.
Hicks made headlines in the high jump, clearing 2.07 meters to take second place overall. His performance broke the UST school record and currently ties him for 8th nationally in NCAA Division III, putting him in strong position for a potential trip to the national championships.
In the sprints, the Celt 4x100m relay team nearly matched the program's all-time best, clocking 41.52 seconds to place fourth—just 0.04 seconds off the school record. T
Also on the track, Chris Releford tied for seventh place in the 100m dash, running 10.75 seconds in a stacked field.
With this, the Celts will turn their focus to Augustana Midwest Qualifier to help qualify for Nationals
