Celts Open Indoor Season at Birmingham Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The University of St. Thomas Track & Field program began its 2025 indoor campaign with a promising showing at the Birmingham Icebreaker, highlighted by new personal bests, near-record performances, and an early season school record.

Womens Highlghts:

In the 60m dash, Quadetra Wilburn opened her season with a 7.89, finishing 28th overall and coming just .01 seconds shy of tying the school record. Close behind was Trinity Provost at 7.95, while freshman Christalyn Dorsey clocked 8.10 to place her 5th all-time in UST program history.

In the 200m, Provost was the top Celt finisher at 25.78, while Wilburn and Emorie Proctor each recorded personal bests, running 26.45 and 27.32 respectively.

Freshman Eslie Ngoran impressed in her collegiate debut with a 1:01.57 in the 400m to finish 22nd overall.

In the 3000m, Elyssa Rodarte finished 15th, running 11:22.53, just 11 seconds shy of the school record.

Men's Highlights:
In the 60m, Chris Releford paced the Celts with a 7.16, while teammates Aden Mazyck and Adrien Thomas ran personal bests of 7.25 and 7.32.

Mazyck followed with a standout performance in the 200m, running a big personal best of 23.06 as the fastest Celt in the event. Releford and Thomas came close behind with times of 23.18 and 23.44.

First-year sprinter Terrence Jackson placed 25th overall in the 400m, clocking 51.56 in his collegiate debut.

In the 3000m, Jhancarlos Caprio placed 15th, running 9:04.82.

The day's highlight came in the 60m hurdles, where freshman Cam Grimaldo set a new school record, running 8.62 to finish 14th overall. Grimaldo later added an 8th-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.95m (6'4.75").
