GEORGETOWN, TX — The University of St. Thomas swimming team dove into their 2025–26 season with a strong showing at their first meet of the year against Southwestern University. The Celts showcased depth, determination, and promising performances that set the tone for an exciting season ahead.

On the Men's side,
Oscar Mayorga led the charge with a commanding win in the 500 freestyle, setting the pace early in the season.
Lucas Blado followed with an impressive victory in the 100 backstroke, proving his consistency in the water.
Levi Del Angel turned heads with a sneaky win in the 100 butterfly and a standout performance in the 200 freestyle, showing his versatility across events. First-year
Chase Starcich made a strong collegiate debut, contributing valuable points and energy for the Celts.
For the Women,
Kelsy Elgar had an excellent meet, taking the 100 backstroke and anchoring key legs in the relay events to help drive team momentum. AJ Kennell made her mark as part of the 200 freestyle relay, helping the Celts close out the meet with a strong team finish.
