GARLAND, TX – The University of St. Thomas turned in the most successful championship performance in program history at the 2026 SCAC Swimming & Diving Championships. With medal finishes across all four days, the Celts stacked podium appearances, broke multiple school records, crowned the program's first individual champion, and saw Hanna Huston honored as SCAC Men's Coaching Staff of the Year.

Since medals are awarded to the top eight finishers, St. Thomas earned hardware throughout the week. Listed in order of when they occurred, here are the medal performances that defined the meet:
Day 1
The men's 200 Medley Relay (Benjamin Tercero, Tanner McKay, Levi Del Angel, and Oliver Spencer) opened the scoring with a silver medal, finishing second overall in record-breaking fashion to secure the first relay medal in program history. Later that night, the men's 800 Free Relay (Levi Del Angel, Oscar Mayorga, Charles Wallace, and Oliver Spencer) added another silver, shattering the team record and giving the Celts two medals on opening day.
Day 2
Levi Del Angel earned an individual medal in the 500 free with a fourth-place finish and a new school record. Benjamin Tercero followed with a fifth-place medal in the 50 free, also setting a program mark. To close the night, the men's 400 Medley Relay (Lucas Blado, Tanner McKay, Levi Del Angel, and Benjamin Tercero ) captured silver, breaking another school record and bringing home the third relay medal of the championships.
Day 3
Ava Verret delivered a milestone performance in the 400 IM, placing fifth overall to earn a medal and become the first women's A finalist in program history.
Day 4
Jackson Quimby earned a fifth-place medal in the 200 back with a strong finals swim. In the 200 breast, Chase Starcich placed sixth with a lifetime best and new team record, while Ava Verret added an eighth-place medal on the women's side.
The biggest moment of the meet came in the 200 fly, where Levi Del Angel won gold to become the first individual conference champion in program history, setting another school record in the process. Oscar followed with a fourth-place medal, and Luke added a fifth-place finish to put three Celts in the top five.
The championships closed with one final medal as the men's 400 Free Relay (Oliver Spencer, Charles Wallace, Tanner McKay, and Benjamin Tercero) stormed back to finish second overall, breaking yet another program record to seal the historic week.
With a gold medal, four silvers, multiple school records, and program-wide milestones, St. Thomas left Garland having firmly established a new standard for Celt Swimming & Diving.
