UST Shines in Home Meet vs Trinity

HOUSTON, TX – UST swim team continued to show strong progress in their second meet of the season, hosting Trinity University at the Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center. Competing in front of a home crowd, the Celts turned in multiple standout performances and demonstrated noticeable improvement from last year's early-season pace.

Freshman Alison Vision made her mark in the women's 400 free relay, anchoring the race with a 59.47 split to close strong for the Celts. Ava Verret impressed in the 200 breaststroke, turning in one of her best swims of the year despite heavy training loads

On the men's side, the 400 free relay A team came within striking distance of the school record, continuing to prove that the squad is building depth and speed across multiple events. Freshman Tanner McKay delivered a breakout performance, leading off the 400 free relay with a 48.5, returning shortly after with a 49.28 in the 100 free, and finishing with an electric 21.60 freestyle leg to anchor the men's 200 medley relay — the fastest among all teams competing.

Head Coach Hanna Huston praised the team's overall effort and progress, saying, "I am really happy with today's performance. Looking back at last year around this time, we were nowhere near where we are now. We're swimming really fast and enjoying the process of it all."
