HOUSTON – University of St. Thomas women's track & field standout Trinity Provost has been selected as one of eight finalists for the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Woman of the Year Award, the conference office announced Wednesday.

The prestigious award recognizes the conference's senior female student-athlete who has best distinguished herself throughout her collegiate career through academic achievement, athletic excellence, service and leadership.

Provost, a psychology major with a 3.57 GPA, concluded one of the most decorated careers in program history. She captured three consecutive SCAC championships in the 200-meter dash (2024, 2025, 2026), helped lead the Celts to three SCAC titles in the 4x100-meter relay (2023, 2025, 2026), and was a member of the 2025 SCAC championship 4x400-meter relay team.

A two-time UST Women's Track & Field MVP and the recipient of the 2025-26 UST Female Athlete of the Year award, Provost earned SCAC Athlete of the Week honors three times during her career. She also helped set the SCAC record in the 4x100-meter relay and collected five USTFCCCA All-Region honors, including recognition in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay.

Beyond competition, Provost has been a leader within the St. Thomas community. She served as a Student-Athlete Ambassador for Celts to Cure throughout her collegiate career and represented the SCAC as a student delegate at the NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C. She also played an integral role on the operations team during the UST men's basketball NCAA National Tournament run.

To be eligible for the SCAC Woman of the Year Award, nominees must have completed their intercollegiate eligibility in their primary sport following the 2026 spring season, earned their undergraduate degree before the end of the 2026 summer term, and maintained a minimum cumulative 2.50 GPA.

The 2026 SCAC Woman of the Year recipient will be announced later this month.

The eight finalists represent Austin College, Colorado College, Hendrix College, LeTourneau University, McMurry University, the University of the Ozarks, the University of St. Thomas and Texas Lutheran University.
