ABILENE, Texas – The University of St. Thomas track and field teams continued to make their presence felt on Day Two of the SCAC Championships, combining podium finishes, school records, and a strong wave of qualifiers into championship finals.

Jakayla Ray delivered another historic performance in the field events, placing third in the women's triple jump with a school-record mark of 10.81 meters. After medaling in the long jump on Day One, Ray continued to lead the way for the Celts with another podium finish and program-best performance.
On the track, St. Thomas saw success in the distance events as Alejandra Ramon placed fourth in the women's 10,000 meters, crossing the line in 41:45.64.
The men's high jump added more points for the Celts, with Cam Grimaldo earning a third-place finish after clearing 1.95 meters. Teammate Caleb Lummus followed with a sixth-place finish at 1.87 meters. Both athletes also advanced on the track, with Grimaldo qualifying for the finals in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.06) and 400-meter hurdles (56.37), while Lummus secured a spot in the 110-meter hurdles final with a time of 15.72.
St. Thomas will be well represented in the men's 400-meter final as Terrence Jackson punched his ticket with a personal-best time of 48.86.
On the women's side, Eslie Ngoran and Nelsy Vera both advanced to the 400-meter final with times of 58.91 and 59.40, respectively, continuing a strong showing in the event for the Celts.
The sprint events saw a major surge from St. Thomas, as five Lady Celts qualified for both the 100 and 200 meter finals. Quadetra Wilburn led the way in the 100 meters, posting the top qualifying time of 11.83—a new conference record that currently ranks ninth in the nation. In the 200 meters, Trinity Provost recorded the fastest qualifying time at 24.99. Joining them in the finals are Christalyn Dorsey, Emorie Proctor, Houlda Dibanda, and Madison Walker, showcasing the depth of the sprint group.
In the hurdles, Joshua Martinez advanced to the 400-meter hurdles final with a time of 56.83, while Lexie Allred Rojas secured her spot in the women's 400-meter hurdles final after running 1:12.67.
