UST Track Finishes Off Strong at TLU Invite

SEGUIN, TX– The University of St. Thomas track and field teams turned in a statement performance across two days of competition at the TLU D3 Challenge Invite, combining event victories, school records, and a wave of personal bests to highlight a strong early-season showing.

Day One
The Celts opened the meet with a solid field performance from Quadetra Wilburn, who placed second in the women's long jump with a mark of 4.98 meters to set the tone for the weekend.

Day Two
St. Thomas surged on the final day, highlighted by standout performances on both the track and in the field.

Cam Grimaldo led the way in the field events, clearing 2.00 meters to win the men's high jump. His mark currently ranks fifth in the nation, further cementing his place among the top competitors in Division III.

On the track, Quadetra Wilburn delivered a historic performance in the women's 100 meters, blazing to a first-place finish in a school-record time of 11.88. The mark now stands as the fastest time in the NCAA this season. Teammate Christalyn Dorsey followed closely behind, earning a runner-up finish with a personal-best time of 12.35.

Wilburn continued her strong day in the 200 meters, posting another lifetime best of 24.60 to finish third overall, while Trinity Provost clocked a 24.62 for fourth place.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Wilburn, Dorsey, Provost, and Dibanda delivered one of the top performances in program history, finishing second with a time of 47.01. The mark ranks as the second-fastest in school history and currently sits second in the nation.

In distance events, the Celts dominated the 1500 meters. Elyssa Rodarte claimed the event title with a time of 5:01.80, while Keyanna Brown secured second place in 5:03.18 to complete a 1-2 finish.

The men's 1500 meters saw even more dominance from St. Thomas, as the Celts swept the top four spots. Jhancarlos Carpio led the pack with a winning time of 4:06.39, narrowly edging freshman Diego Santillan (4:06.83). Johnathan Castro and Roy Sixtos followed in third and fourth place to complete the sweep.

Additional strong performances came in the sprints and hurdles. Eslie Ngoran paced three Celts in the top five of the women's 400 meters, finishing second in 58.97. Nelsy Vera (1:00.65) and Madison Walker (1:01.06) added third and fifth place finishes, respectively.

Terrence Jackson turned in a lifetime-best performance in the men's 400 meters, clocking 48.98 to finish fourth overall while moving into second place on the program's all-time list. Adrian Thomas also recorded a personal best in the 100 meters (10.91) and later added another in the 200 meters at 22.24.

In the hurdles, Grimaldo returned to the track to post a personal-best time of 15.27 in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing sixth overall. Josh Martinez added a podium finish in the 400-meter hurdles, taking third with a personal-best time of 57.50.

Mid-distance standout Juan Silva placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:00.34, while Alejandra Ramon secured a fourth-place finish in the 5000 meters.

Jakayla Ray contributed in the field events with a fifth-place finish in the women's triple jump, recording a mark of 10.29 meters.

The weekend concluded with a strong showing in the men's 4x400-meter relay, where the team of Josh Martinez, Terrence Jackson, Juan Silva, and Cam Grimaldo combined for a second-place finish in 3:23.17.

With multiple event wins, national marks, and continued progression across the roster, the Celts continue to build momentum early in the outdoor season.
