UST enters the national quarterfinal matchup with a remarkable 29-1 record, continuing one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Celts punched their ticket to the Elite 8 after an impressive Sweet 16 victory over Wash U, marking the first time the program has advanced this far in the NCAA Tournament.
Awaiting them is Christopher Newport University, known as the Captains, who bring a 24-5 record into the matchup. The Captains are no stranger to the national stage and have been one of the most consistent programs in Division III basketball over the past several seasons. Thursday's meeting will mark the first time the two programs have faced each other.
