HOUSTON, TX – University of St. Thomas junior Antonio Ramirez has been named the SCAC Men's Golfer of the Week for competition played from Monday, March 9 through Tuesday, March 10.

The League City, Texas native delivered an outstanding performance at the Space City Classic, claiming medalist honors with a four-under-par total of 209 after rounds of 68, 70, and 71. The tournament was hosted by St. Thomas and played at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course in Houston.

Ramirez secured the individual title by a single stroke over Southwestern's Ethan Bridges and helped lead the Celts to a fourth-place finish in the eight-team field.

Throughout the event, Ramirez paced the competition in par-3 scoring at even par and par-5 scoring at six-under. He also recorded 13 birdies during the tournament, the third-most among the 49 golfers competing.

His impressive showing on the home course earned him conference weekly honors and highlighted a strong outing for the Celts at the Space City Classic.
