HOUSTON, TX-- UST Track & Field continued competition against a deep and talented field on Day 2 of the Robert Platt Invitational, highlighted by a school record and strong performances across the track and field events.
On the men's side, Elijah Emerson delivered the headline performance in the 3000m, breaking the school record with a time of 8:36.23. Terrence Jackson added a personal best in the 200m, crossing the line in 22.72, while Cam Grimaldo lowered his personal best in the 60m hurdles to 8.55 to finish 14th overall. Osvaldo Jasso placed fourth in the men's 600-yard run with a time of 1:23.42. In the field events, newcomer JaKarri Hall recorded a mark of 19 feet, 3.5 inches in the long jump, moving him into fifth place on the program's all-time list.
For the women, Trinity Provost led the Lady Celts in the 200m, running 25.45 to place 12th overall and currently ranking 34th nationally. Quadetra Wilburn, Eslie Ngoran, Christalyn Dorsey, and Madison Walker each turned in notable personal bests in the event with times of 26.05, 26.24, 26.58, and 26.65, respectively. In the 600-yard run, Elyssa Rodarte earned a third-place finish with a time of 1:35.60, while Keyanna Brown followed closely behind in fifth at 1:38.04.
