St. Thomas Close Out Strong Weekend at Rice Tri-Meet

HOUSTON, TX – UST swim team wrapped up day two of the Rice Tri-Meet with another round of determined performances against a competitive field of Division I programs. The Celts showed grit and progress throughout the weekend, closing on a high note.

Lucas Blado stood out with impressive swims in both the 100 backstroke and 200 IM. His growing confidence and sharp race strategy were evident, showing how well he has prepared coming into the season. Levi also delivered strong efforts, anchoring the 400 free relay with power and putting together a great 100 fly, continuing to bring energy and excitement to every race.

Tanner McKay capped off an outstanding weekend, displaying consistency and confidence with each swim. His competitive drive continues to shine as he settles into his rhythm this season.

On the women's side, the 200 medley relay team closed the meet with a spirited performance. Despite it being the final race of the weekend, the group brought great energy and determination, finishing the event on a strong and positive note for the Celts.

Head coach Hanna Huston praised the team's effort, saying, "Overall, I'm really happy with this weekend. I am happy with where we are at right now in the season. It's really fun to watch them start trusting the process and buy into this program."
