The University of St. Thomas has promoted Scott Latham to Assistant Athletic Director of Recreational Sports & Facilities. He was previously the Assistant Director of Rec Sports but had quite the influence on facility management for The Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center.
Since coming to UST in 2018, Latham has run a successful and interactive recreational sports program. Of recent he has been focusing on guidelines and regulation for club sports so that they can safely return to play. He has also been the main contact for The JAAC as he oversees maintenance and scheduling for the facility. "Scott has been a terrific addition to both our Athletic and Recreation Departments" Athletic Director Todd Smith said. "He is constantly improving our facilities to enhance the on-campus experience of our growing student and student-athlete communities, not to mention our staff. He has made Jerabeck a versatile and functional facility that we now proudly show visitors and prospective students."
Over the past six months, The JAAC has received impressive renovations at the hands of Latham and the Athletic Department. The front lobby, student-athlete lounge, locker room doors, back doors and the athletic training room all received new branding that highlights the athletic department and its new logo. The gym floor was refinished and redesigned to align with the new athletic logo as well. The cosmetics of The JAAC continued to improve as a "UST Picture Wall" was added for students and recruits. Latham was also behind the project to add flooring to connect the weight room and the cardio room. Jerabeck's next addition is a batting cage that will be located outside on the turf. This will serve both the Baseball and Softball programs.

"Being able to be part of remodeling The JAAC has been great. From my first day at UST to now, to see what we have accomplished so far with renovations has been incredible. We see the reactions every day from our student and student-athletes about the space we have created" Latham said. "We wanted inviting spaces, we wanted the look to feel right, we wanted our students to want to come to The JAAC and I think we have accomplished that. I hear ideas and get thoughts all the time about what else we can do to improve The JAAC and I look forward to implementing those as we continue to move forward."
This promotion means a lot Latham. "I really appreciate UST, Todd Smith, our administration, and our Athletic Department for the support. I look forward to keeping the student experience at the highest level possible and to continually improve our facilities for the students."
