PORTLAND, OR— The St. Thomas women's soccer team fought back for a 1–1 draw on the road against Lewis & Clark at Griswold Stadium, bringing their record to 1–0–1.
Lewis & Clark struck first in the 17th minute to put L&C ahead 1–0. St. Thomas looked to respond quickly, but Lewis & Clark held onto the lead heading into halftime.
St. Thomas continued to push to level the score throughout the second half, generating chances in the final minutes. The relentless attack paid off in dramatic fashion with just one second remaining on the clock. In the 90th minute (89:59), Aryanna Vazquez found the back of the net off an assist from Jaida Rodea to tie the game at 1–1 and secure the draw for the Celts.
Lewis & Clark held a narrow 13–12 edge in total shots, while UST placed 4 attempts on goal. Goalkeeper Kylie Soich played all 90 minutes in net for UST, recording 2 saves.
