HOUSTON – The University of St. Thomas softball program added another milestone to its historic 2026 season as four Celts were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on the 2026 NCAA Division III All-Region X Team.
Sophomore Samantha Crumrin was named to the First Team, while Junior Viviana Vargas and senior Rebecca Archibald earned Second Team honors. Senior Chloe Bennett was selected to the Third Team.
The four all-region selections are another testament to one of the most successful seasons in St. Thomas softball history. The Celts captured national attention throughout the spring, earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.
Crumrin put together a dominant two-way season and established herself as one of the premier players in the region. The sophomore excelled both in the circle and at the plate, delivering clutch performances throughout the season and during the NCAA Tournament. Her First Team selection places her among the top performers in Division III softball.
Vargas and Archibald were instrumental in setting the tone for the Celts' offense and defense all season long. Vargas provided consistency in the lineup and outstanding leadership, while Archibald served as a spark at the top of the order and was a steady presence in the outfield. Their Second Team honors recognize the significant impact both players.
Bennett capped off an exceptiona season with Third Team recognition. Known for her timely hitting and veteran leadership, Bennett delivered several key performances in both conference and postseason play, helping guide the Celts to new heights.
The NFCA All-Region teams are selected by the association's member coaches and honor the top student-athletes from each region across NCAA Division III softball. First Team honorees become eligible for NFCA All-America consideration.
