Sugarland, TX – St. Thomas' baseball team split a pair of games against LeTourneau, falling 6–5 in a late comeback before responding with a 12–6 victory. With the results, the Celts improve to 12-19 overall and 11-13 in conference.
GAME 1: LETU 6, UST 5
After a scoreless start, LeTourneau broke through in the sixth inning with a three-run inning to take a 3–0 lead.
The Celts responded in the seventh inning, taking advantage of an error to get on the board as Rey Izaguirre reached and allowed Justin Ogle to score. Moments later, Sam Lampson delivered an RBI single to bring home Ryan Ratajczak, cutting the deficit to 3–2.
LeTourneau added three runs in the ninth inning to extend their lead to 6–2.
St. Thomas refused to go out quietly and rallied in the bottom of the ninth. Jon Torres hit a two-run RBI single to left field scoring Brady Duque and Izaguirre. Tyler Mills then reached on an error which allowed another run to score, bringing the Celts within 6–5.
With momentum building, St. Thomas threatened to complete the comeback, but LeTourneau held on to secure the narrow victory.
GAME 2: UST 12, LETU 6
LeTourneau struck first in the top of the first inning with an RBI double, but the Celts answered immediately. Justin Ogle hit an RBI single to left center field, bringing home Gage Kimble, tying the game at 1–1.
St. Thomas took control in the second inning with a three-run surge. Jon Torres delivered a two-run RBI double to score Sam Lampson and Rey Izaguirre, and Ogle followed with another RBI single extending the lead to 4–1.
LeTourneau chipped away, adding two runs in the fourth inning, but the Celts responded in the bottom of the fourth inning. Augie Anderson reached on an error, allowing two runs to score, pushing the advantage to 6–3.
After the YellowJackets added a run in the fifth, St. Thomas answered again as Chris Johnson doubled to drive in Torres and make it 7–4.
The Celts broke the game open in the sixth inning with a five-run outburst. Torres delivered another two run RBI double before Kimble drew a bases-loaded walk. Ogle was then hit by a pitch, bringing in a run, and Anderson capped the inning with a bases-loaded walk, extending the lead to 12–4.
LeTourneau added a pair of runs in the eighth, but the Celts maintained control to secure the 12–6 victory.

St. Thomas will look to build on the win as the Celts continue their season on Tuesday, April 7, against the University of Houston-Victoria. The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 6PM.
