Celts Dominate Dallas in Shutout Victory

IRVING, TX – The University of St. Thomas' softball team delivered a commanding performance, defeating the University of Dallas 10–0. The Celts controlled the game from the start, using consistent offense and strong defensive play to secure the shutout victory. With the win, UST's softball record improves to 10-3 overall and 8-2 in conference.

St. Thomas struck first in the first inning when Samantha Crumrin doubled to center field, bringing home Savana Henken to give the Celts an early 1–0 lead.

The Celts added three more runs in the second inning to extend their advantage. Kianah Johnson singled to right field to score Viviana Vargas, while Rebecca Archibald followed with an RBI single that allowed Johnson to cross the plate. Later in the inning, Henken delivered an RBI single to bring in Gigi Rivera and push the lead to 4–0.

St. Thomas continued to build momentum in the third inning. Chloe Bennett advanced to third on a passed ball and scored an unearned run to make it 5–0. Ana Zozaya added another run with an RBI groundout that scored Crumrin and increased the Celts' lead to 6-0.

The offense remained steady in the fourth inning when Crumrin singled to drive in Archibald, extending the lead to 7–0.

The Celts sealed the victory in the fifth inning with three more runs. Rivera singled to score Vargas before Olivia Sanchez delivered a two-run double, bringing home Archibald and Rivera to cap the 10–0 win.
