CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The University of St. Thomas' baseball team delivered a strong all-around performance to defeat Ozarks (Ark.) 9–2, securing the series victory. With the series win, the Celts improve to 10-18 overall on the season and 9-12 record in conference play.
The Celts scored early in the second inning, capitalizing on timely hitting. Zach Cline singled to left field to drive in Ryan Ratajczak, and Eduardo Tamez followed with an RBI single to score Gabe Garner, giving St. Thomas a 2–0 lead.
St. Thomas added another run in the fourth inning as Tamez brought home Garner on an RBI groundout, extending the advantage to 3–0.
The Celts continued to build momentum in the sixth inning when Tamez launched a solo home run to left center, pushing the lead to 4–0.
The Ozarks got on the board in the bottom of the sixth, but St. Thomas responded with a decisive seventh inning. The Celts scored five runs in the inning, highlighted by an RBI sacrifice fly from Garner, an RBI double by Jon Torres, a two-run double from Cline, and another RBI double from Tamez to extend the lead to 9–1.
Ozarks added a solo home run in the eighth inning, but the Celts' pitching staff limited further damage to secure the 9–2 victory.
