SEGUIN, TX– The University of St. Thomas softball team traveled to Seguin to open its second conference series against Texas Lutheran University. In Game 1, the Celts competed hard through all seven innings but fell 5-2 to the Bulldogs. Despite the result, St. Thomas showed resilience late and will look to carry that momentum into the remainder of the series.

Texas Lutheran built an early lead in the middle innings, putting the Celts in a 5-0 deficit heading into the final stretch of the game.

St. Thomas refusing to back down in the sixth inning, Chloe Bennett sparked the offense with a solo home run putting the Celts on the board.

The Celts continued to apply pressure in the seventh. Bennett delivered again with a double to left field, driving in Rebecca Archibald to bring the score to 5-2. Altough St. Thomas creating late sparks and showing determination at the plate, it was too late to close the gap.

With two games remaining in the series, St. Thomas looks to regroup and come back stronger as this conference play continues.
