HOUSTON, Texas — The University of St. Thomas Men's Cross Country team secured a 3rd-place finish at the Rice Invitational, showing depth across their lineup.

Freshman Elijah Emerson stood out among a strong field, crossing the line in 3rd place overall with a time of 16:09.6. Emerson was the first Division III runner to finish, placing just behind Division I competition and setting the tone for the Celts.
Behind him, the Celts showed their depth with six more runners closing out the team score. Mason McFeeters placed 13th in 16:35.3, followed closely by Micah Hampton in 16th at 16:40.9. Just behind, Johnathan Castro finished 19th with a time of 16:44.7 to give the Celts four runners in the top 20.
Rounding out the scoring group, Diego Santilan crossed in 17:29.6, right alongside Chris Lopez in 17:29.8. Dominic Arriaga closed out the top seven with a 17:40.6 finish, sealing the team's 3rd-place result.
