HOUSTON – The University of St. Thomas Softball program is celebrating a big academic win as 11 Celts earned 2024-25 Easton/NFCA Division III All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
The award recognizes softball student-athletes across the nation who posted a 3.5 GPA or higher during the academic year. This year's list featured an impressive 9,199 collegiate athletes spanning NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, Junior College, and High School.
For the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), a record-breaking 88 softball players were honored — the most in league history. St. Thomas proudly contributed 11 of those names: Rebecca Archibald, Chloe Bennett, Samantha Crumrin, Lindsey Gonzalez, Savana Henken, Taylor Hollins, Allison Hughes, Delayne Moreno, Avery Pinz, Jaelyn Simmons, and Victoria Sossaman.
It's another point of pride for the Celts, who not only found success in the classroom but also on the diamond, claiming the 2024 SCAC Tournament Championship and representing the university with excellence in both arenas.
