Eleven Celts Recognized with All-SCAC Honors

ROUND ROCK, Texas – After a stellar regular season, the University of St. Thomas softball team was honored with 11 selections to the 2025 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) teams.

Three Celts were named to the All-SCAC First Team: senior third baseman Jaelyn Simmons, junior outfielder Rebecca Archibald, and sophomore pitcher Victoria Sossaman. Simmons wrapped up her senior campaign with strong two-way play, while Archibald delivered steady offense and dependable fielding. In the circle, Sossaman shined with a breakout year that earned her SCAC Pitcher-of-the-Year votes.

On the All-SCAC Second Team, St. Thomas was represented by senior outfielder Delayne Moreno, junior utility player Chloe Bennett, and junior pitcher Allison Hughes. Moreno's speed and range made her a weapon in the outfield. Bennett stood out across multiple positions and even earned two first-place votes for SCAC Player-of-the-Year. Hughes provided reliable depth on the mound throughout the season.

Five more Celts were recognized as Honorable Mention All-SCAC: first-year catcher Ana Zozaya, first-year first baseman Samantha Crumrin, and first-year outfielder Savana Henken each made a splash in their debut seasons, with Crumrin also earning two first-place votes for SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year. Senior designated hitter Gabby Davila and senior shortstop Lindsey Gonzalez rounded out the list with veteran contributions that anchored the team's success.

The impressive spread of honors across classes and positions highlights both the veteran leadership and young talent driving the Celts forward.
