HOUSTON, TX--  COREY THOMPSON OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TEX.), a junior guard from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Tuesday, December 9 through Sunday, December 14.

Thompson controlled the game on both ends in the Celts' overtime league opener against Colorado College, finishing with seven steals, five rebounds, and five assists. He also played 39 minutes and contributed 18 points, shooting 9-of-11 from the free throw line. His all-around performance helped St. Thomas secure a hard-fought victory to start conference play.

The Celts now turn their focus to preparing for the 2025 Leslie Robinson Classic, hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio this weekend, where they will look to continue building momentum against top competition. They take on Mary Washington on Dec 20rth and on 21st take on Marietta.
