Colorado Springs, CO -- St. Thomas traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to take on Colorado College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The contest marked UST's conference opener, moving the Celts to 4-2 overall and 0-1 in SCAC play following the road loss.
The opening quarter featured a back-and-forth exchange between the Celts and the Tigers, with both teams trading baskets early. Colorado College began to create separation late in the period, holding a 13-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter continued with steady exchanges on both ends of the floor. The Tigers maintained control and led 19-14 midway through the quarter before starting to stretch the margin. UST found a spark from beyond the arc as Amyia Bowie connected on a three-pointer to make it 28-21. Colorado College closed the half strong and carried a 30-21 lead into the break.
Colorado College came out of halftime with momentum, extending the lead to 44-29 in the third quarter as UST struggled to find its offensive rhythm. The Tigers continued to build on their advantage down the stretch and secured a 65-41 win.
Amyia Bowie led the Celts with 12 points while also contributing six rebounds and four steals. Macie Whitfield added eight points and five rebounds, and Branasia Brazelton chipped in eight points for UST.
