Celts Beat Undefeated No.21 ETBU in 69-55 Win


HOUSTON, Texas — The University of St. Thomas women's basketball team delivered an impressive performance this afternoon, securing a 69–55 victory over East Texas Baptist University at home. With the win, the Celts improve to 3–1.

St. Thomas opened the game on fire, posting 24 first-quarter points with six early threes to seize momentum immediately. Kameron Goodman set the tone with an early basket, and Jaydia Morris added quick points to keep the momentum building, carrying a 24–10 lead into the second period.

The Celts kept their rhythm rolling in the second quarter as Laura Jones lit up the arc to help extend the lead. Outscoring ETBU 23–15 in the frame, St. Thomas took a commanding 47–25 advantage into halftime.

After the break, though ETBU made a third-quarter push, the Celts held firm behind steady execution and timely scoring, leading 60–41 entering the fourth. St. Thomas kept it close the rest of the way, holding strong and maintaining their lead to secure a decisive 69–55 victory.

The Celts were led by Laura Jones, who poured in 17 points, going a perfect 5-of-5 from the three point line. Kameron Goodman added 14 points and a game-high 5 steals and Jaydia Morris also contributed 14 points and 6 rebounds, continuing her efficient play inside.
