HOUSTON,TX-- COREY THOMPSON OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS (TEX.), a junior guard from Missouri City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, November 10 through Sunday, November 16.
Thompson turned in a remarkable offensive stretch for the Celts, averaging 20.7 points across three contests. He delivered 23 points in a narrow one-point loss to No. 5-ranked WashU, shooting over 60 percent from the field and accounting for nearly half of St. Thomas' total scoring in the matchup. Over the week, Thompson logged 30 minutes per game, knocked down 10 three-pointers, and shot nearly 55 percent from the floor. He closed the week with 62 points, six assists, and an impressive 15 steals, showcasing his two-way impact and consistency.
The Celts will next take on UTEP in an exhibition matchup tomorrow at 8 p.m. CT / 9 p.m. MT.
