HOUSTON, TX-- St. Thomas Men's Cross Country team continued their strong season with a second-place team finish in the 8K race at the SCAC Conference Championships. The Celts competed against a competitive field and delivered consistent performances throughout their lineup.

Leading the way for UST was Micah Hampton, who finished in 8th place with a time of 25:34.70. Close behind was freshman standout Elijah Emerson, crossing the line in 25:40.84 for 9th overall. Jonathan Castro followed in 25:51.16 to place 13th, while Marc Mendoza (26:04.85), Chris Lopez (26:19.82), and Mason McFeeters (26:26.75) rounded out the scoring group.
The Celts picked up three All-SCAC performances on its way to its best-ever team finish. Hampton led the way in eighth, while Emerson earned ninth overall and was named SCAC Men's First-Year Runner of the Year, becoming just the second Celt ever to receive the award (joining Andres Padron from 2021). Castro also earned his second straight All-Conference honor, finishing 13th overall in 25:51.16.
