LONGVIEW, TX – After a quick turnaround from Marshall, St. Thomas volleyball team kept their momentum rolling in conference with a 3-0 sweep over Centenary (25-9, 25-10, 25-9) in Longview, Texas. The win improves the Celts' record as they continue to make their mark. They are now 19-3 and 9-1 in conference.
In the opening set, UST came out dominant from the start, quickly jumping ahead on a run that made it 13-6 behind kills from Jazilyn Davis, Alexis Bodunrin, and Ariana Willis. The Celts continued to apply pressure with more strong swings from Noor Haydari and Bodunrin while capitalizing on Centenary's errors to extend their lead to 19-9 before closing out the set with authority.
The second and third sets mirrored the first, as UST once again established control early and never looked back. The Celts showcased their offensive depth with kills from Karrington Kays, Bodunrin, Willis, and Haydari. They went on multiple lengthy scoring runs, including a pair of 10-0 stretches, which helped them seal both sets with ease and complete the sweep.
Alexis Bodunrin led the Celts with 11 kills, while Ariana Willis added six and Karrington Kays chipped in five. Jazilyn Davis was a force at the service line with eight aces, and Haydari followed with three. Defensively, Haydari and Brooke Barnes each tallied three blocks, while Kays added two. Mia Medina led the offense with 16 assists, and Jada Stallworth added nine. Carly Lange anchored the back row with 10 digs, followed by Stallworth with eight and Bodunrin with seven.
