SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The UST Men's Tennis team continued its fall campaign with the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Trinity University, held October 2-5. Competing against strong regional opponents, the Celts battled across both singles and doubles action on the opening day.

Singles Highlights
In Flight A, Raja Pandya opened his tournament against a UMHB opponent, dropping a close match 3-6 to move into the consolation bracket. He bounced back in the next round with a strong 6-2, 6-3 victory, advancing into the qualifiers for the Consolation Round of 32. Pandya will compete in the consolation Sweet 16 tomorrow.
Also in Flight A, Sawyer White battled through a three-set match against Southwestern, ultimately falling 6-3, 1-6, 5-10 in a tiebreaker. In the consolation qualifier, White fought hard but was edged 6-3, 7-5.
Wilson Salazar faced a similar path, falling in a competitive three-set opening match 6-1, 1-6, 4-10. He later dropped his consolation match against UMHB 6-3, 6-4.
In Flight B, Michael Haranczyk opened strong with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over a LeTourneau newcomer, advancing to face a Concordia opponent tomorrow. Ricardo Moolchan also impressed, defeating his Hardin-Simmons opponent 6-2, 6-0 to reach the Sweet 16, where he will compete in the next round.
Doubles Results
In Flight A doubles, the duo of Gavin Simpson and Haranczyk fell in a tight 8-6 match against SCAC foe Texas Lutheran. Also in Flight A, White and Salazar were topped 8-2 by Southwestern, while Moolchan and Pandya fell 8-6 to UMHB.
In Flight B action, Andres Mora and Ruben Reyes started strong, winning their opening match against UMHB 8-6 to advance to the Round of 16.
