MARSHALL, TX – The University of St. Thomas men's tennis team began its spring season on the road against East Texas Baptist University, falling 7-0. The Celts move to 0-1 to open the spring season.
In doubles play, St. Thomas battled but was unable to secure a victory as the Tigers claimed the doubles point.
In singles action, Raja Pandaya fell 6-1, 6-2, while Sawyer White dropped his match 6-2, 6-3. Ricardo Moolchan opened strong with a 6-0 set but ultimately fell 6-3 and 10-3 in a deciding tiebreaker. Wilson Salazar was defeated 6-2, 6-0, and Gavin Simpson competed closely in his first set before falling 6-4, 6-1. Pooya Tork battled in both sets but came up short 7-5, 6-4.
