Celts Conquer the Warriors 2-1

Houston, TX – The University of St. Thomas women's soccer team returned to their home turf at SaberCats Stadium to face the Hendrix College Warriors. After a defensive weekend on the road, the Celts came into the match ready to make an impact—continuing their unbeaten conference streak with a 2–1 victory. This win improves their overall record to 7–1–4 and conference record to 4–0–2.

The game kicked off at a high pace as Hendrix quickly tested UST's defense with an early on-goal shot, but goalkeeper Kylie Soich made a crucial save to keep the Celts in control. Building off that momentum, UST pushed up the field with confidence. Within the first 13 minutes, Abigail Davila broke through the Warriors' back line, earning the opening goal, as she was assisted by Amy Romero, giving the Celts a 1–0 lead. Energized by their success, the Celts kept the pressure on, firing off four more shots before Ashlee Stoltje acted on a solo goal in the 36th minute to extend the lead to 2–0 heading into halftime.

Coming out of the break, the Celts maintained their intensity as Hendrix sought to find their rhythm. The Warriors managed to narrow the score to 2–1 early in the half, but the UST defense held firm for the remainder of the match. Anchored by Soich and a firm back line, the Celts shut down Hendrix's chances and controlled possession through the closing minutes, securing a 2–1 home victory.
