HOUSTON, TX-- St. Thomas sophomore Jesus Del Agulia has been named the SCAC Men's Golfer of the Week for competition held from October 12–14.

Del Agulia, a native of Mazatlán, Mexico, delivered an impressive performance at the SCAC Fall Preview, earning medalist honors while leading the Celts to a tie for first place in the team standings. He posted a two-round total of 138 (six-under par) to capture a two-stroke victory.

After opening the tournament with an even-par 70 to sit in a tie for fourth, Del Agulia surged in the final round, firing a four-under 68 — the second-lowest score of the day — to claim the individual title.

He was consistent throughout the event, finishing tied for first in par-5 scoring (4.38), tied for fourth in par-3 scoring (3.00), and tied for fourth in total birdies with nine.

Del Agulia and the Celts now turn their attention to preparing for the upcoming Firestorm Fall Invitational in Arizona as they close out their fall season.
