Katarina Barbosa, a distinguished alumna of the University of St. Thomas begins her inaugural season as an assistant coach for the university's women's soccer program. During her tenure as a forward from 2016 to 2019, Barbosa established herself as a key player, earning All-Conference honors on three occasions. She is tied for the record of most goals scored in a single season (12) and holds the title of the program's all-time leading goal scorer, with 32 goals over the course of 66 matches. During this period, the UST Celts demonstrated dominance in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), with Barbosa playing a pivotal role in securing two RRAC championships and advancing the team to the NAIA National Tournament. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Barbosa graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
