Raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Jannick Christiansen’s lifelong passion for athletics began on the ice playing ice hockey before finding its true home on the basketball court. Transitioning to basketball at age 13, he quickly developed into an elite talent in the Danish circuit, representing Stevnsgade Basketball Klub (SBBK) and earning a selection to the Danish Youth National Team.
Jannick went on to play professionally for both Solrød Basketball Club and SBBK. Driven by a deep commitment to his roots, he also co-founded an ambitious grass-roots club initiative in his hometown neighborhood of Østerbro. Though financial hurdles cut the club project short, his dedication to the local basketball community never wavered.
After a career-ending ankle injury at age 24 shifted his path away from competitive playing, Jannick translated his court vision, elite experience, and love for the game into mentorship and coaching. Introduced to the program through his father’s work as a volunteer assistant coach with the University of St. Thomas women's soccer team, Jannick connected with Coach Medina to bring his passion, tactical knowledge, and infectious energy to the UST family.
Whether developing players, building team culture, or sharing the game that shaped his life, Jannick remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of athletes.
