SAN ANTONIO, TX— The St. Thomas women's soccer team dropped a 5–0 decision on the road against Trinity University at Paul McGinlay Field. Facing a relentless attack from the Tigers, the Celts were unable to keep pace as the host side pulled away across both halves. With the result, St. Thomas now holds a 2–5–2 overall record on the season.
Trinity set the tone early in the match, striking in the 6th minute (5:13) to take a 1–0 lead. Goalkeeper Kylie Soich worked hard to keep the Celts within reach throughout the opening period, turning away six shots on goal. Alicia Chi created a scoring chance for St. Thomas in the 24th minute (23:49) with a shot on target, but the attempt was saved. The Tigers extended their lead in the 35th minute (34:07) to take a 2–0 advantage into the halftime break.
Trinity continued to push the pace in the second half, adding goals in the 66th (65:52) and 69th minute (68:17) before capping off the scoring in the 74th minute (73:11) to secure the 5–0 final. St. Thomas kept battling late into the match, earning a shot on goal from Aryanna Vazquez in the 88th minute (87:51).
The Celts recorded two shots on goal during the contest. Goalkeeper Kylie Soich played all 90 minutes in net, finishing with nine saves on the afternoon.
