SUWANEE, Ga. – Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2026 All-SCAC Women's Tennis awards, and the University of St. Thomas women's tennis team was represented by senior Lucia Rodriguez, who earned Second Team All-SCAC honors in singles competition.

Competing at the No. 1 singles position for the Celts, Rodriguez delivered an outstanding senior season, posting a 7-2 singles record and a 6-2 mark in doubles play. Her steady leadership helped guide St. Thomas to an 8-5 overall record and a 7-2 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Rodriguez played a pivotal role in helping the Celts secure the No. 3 seed in the SCAC Championship and finish third in the conference tournament. Her selection to the All-SCAC Singles Second Team places her among the top 12 singles players in the conference and highlights the consistency and competitiveness she displayed throughout the 2026 season.

The honor caps an outstanding collegiate career for Rodriguez, who served as a cornerstone of the St. Thomas lineup while facing many of the league's top players at the No. 1 position. Her recognition reflects both her individual success and the continued growth of the Celts women's tennis program.

The All-SCAC teams are selected through voting by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors. In singles, coaches rank 12 players, with the top six earning First Team honors and the next six receiving Second Team recognition.

Rodriguez's all-conference honor adds to another successful season for the Celts and underscores the impact she made as one of the program's veteran leaders.
