KERRVILLE, TX – The University of St. Thomas women's tennis team opened the SCAC Championships with a dominant 4-0 victory over LeTourneau University in the quarterfinal round. With the win, the No. 3-seeded Celts advance to the semifinals.
UST took control early in doubles play, securing the point with wins on two courts. Adriana Iturralde and Aimee Tran earned a 6-4 victory at No. 2, while Ella Mullins and Nataly Velasco followed with a commanding 6-1 win at No. 3 to clinch the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles match featuring Lucia Rodriguez and Mariel Herrera went unfinished.
The Celts carried their momentum into singles competition, quickly securing three straight wins to close out the match. Ella Mullins led the charge with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Adriana Iturralde followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5, and Marlie McArthur sealed the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6.
Several other matches were left unfinished as St. Thomas clinched the victory, including strong showings from Lucia Rodriguez and Nataly Velasco.
