Men’s Tennis Earns 6-1 Win

HOUSTON, TX – The University of St. Thomas men's tennis team delivered a strong performance at home, defeating McMurry University 6-1 in conference action. With the win, the Celts improve to 5-6 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

UST controlled doubles from the start, sweeping all three matches to secure the opening point. Wilson Salazar and Sawyer White led with a 6-4 victory at No. 1, while Pooya Tork and Ricardo Moolchan followed with a 6-2 win. Raja Pandya and Luis Ledezma capped off the sweep with a dominant 6-1 performance.

The Celts carried that momentum into singles, winning five of six matches. Raja Pandya set the tone with a 6-4, 6-2 victory, while Ricardo Moolchan delivered a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win. Wilson Salazar battled through a tight opening set before closing out his match 6-0, 6-1.

Pooya Tork added another point with a 6-2, 6-2 performance, and Gavin Simpson completed the effort with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win. Sawyer White competed at No. 2 but came up short as McMurry earned its lone point.
