Kerrville, TX - The University of St. Thomas' softball team overcame an early deficit with a dominant offensive performance, defeating Schreiner University 10–2. The Celts responded quickly after a slow start, using consistent hitting and a big middle-inning surge to take control of the game. This performance improves their overall record to 18-5 while slating 16-2 in conference.
Schreiner struck first in the bottom of the first inning with back-to-back RBI singles to take a 2–0 lead. St. Thomas answered in the top of the second inning when Savana Henken hit an RBI single to center field scoring Kaitlyn Key. Later in the inning, Chloe Bennett lifted an RBI sacrifice fly to bring home Gigi Rivera, tying the game at 2–2.
The Celts took the lead in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a defensive miscue as Bennett reached on an error that allowed Rebecca Archibald to score. Viviana Vargas followed with an RBI single to extend the lead to 4–2.
St. Thomas broke the game open in the top of the fifth inning with a dominant offensive outburst. Henken drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a run, and Bennett was hit by a pitch to bring in another. Samantha Crumrin delivered the biggest hit of the inning, driving in three runs with a single and advancing on an error. Vargas capped the rally with an RBI single, giving the Celts a commanding 10–2 advantage.
The Celts held Schreiner scoreless the rest of the way to secure the victory.

The Celts look to continue their victorious momentum as they prepare to play a double-header against the University of the Ozarks on Saturday, March 22. The first pitch for game one is scheduled to be thrown at 12PM, and the second game is set to begin at 2PM, at WUSA field.
