Senior Night Win Closes Regular Season

HOUSTON, TX – The University of St. Thomas Women's basketball team closed out the regular season in dominant fashion on Senior Night with an 80–41 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana Sunday afternoon at the Jerabeck Activity and Athletic Center. The win improves the Celts to 17–6 overall and 11–5 in SCAC play and concludes the regular season on a high note.

St. Thomas set the tone early in the first quarter using defensive pressure and strong inside play to build a quick advantage. The Celts knocked down timely shots and capitalized at the free-throw line to take a 23–13 lead after one quarter.

The Celts continued to control the pace in the second quarter, extending their lead with balanced scoring and solid rebounding. St. Thomas maintained its defensive intensity and went into halftime with a comfortable 40–25 advantage.

St. Thomas delivered its most dominant stretch in the third quarter. The Celts held Centenary to just one field goal while pushing the pace offensively. A three-pointer from Kenna Gibson and strong interior play from Nora Aigberadion highlighted a decisive run that extended the lead to 63–30 entering the fourth.

In the fourth quarter the Celts continued their strong play down the stretch, maintaining control on both ends of the floor. Contributions from the bench and steady defense helped St. Thomas close out the 80–41 victory to finish the regular season with momentum.

Gibson led all scorers with 22 points, while Bowie recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Goodman added 11 points and St. Thomas forced 23 turnovers.

Sunday's contest marked the final game of the season for St. Thomas. The Celts conclude the year with a 17-6 overall record and an 11-5 SCAC record after finishing the season with a home victory.
