Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Victoria Argueta

Celts Claw Their Way To a 4-1 Win

VICTORIA, TX – The University of St. Thomas men's soccer team traveled to The Cage in Victoria, TX, where they faced off against Texas A&M University–Victoria. The Celts came out strong and never looked back, securing a commanding 4-1 victory to improve their season record to 4-1-0.

The Jaguars opened the game looking to strike first, but the Celts quickly utilized the momentum in their favor. In the 22nd minute, freshman Nathan Udojie broke through the defense and scored his first career goal as a Celt, unassisted. UST continued to apply pressure, shaking up the Jaguars' rhythm with two quick goals in the span of three minutes. Yohan Bernard-Le found the back of the net, assisted by Brian Garcia, and just moments later Udojie struck again—this time assisted by Brandon Delaney—to score his second goal of the match. The Celts weren't finished yet, as Jovany Garcia added a fourth goal in the 40th minute, leaving UST to enter into halftime with a commanding 4-0 lead.

Coming off the break, the Jaguars fought to claw their way back into the game. The second half turned into a brawl filled with calls and high tensions on both ends. The UST defense worked to hold firm under pressure, but A&M-Victoria managed to sneak in a goal in the 63rd minute. Despite the effort, the Jaguars couldn't close the gap, and the Celts left with a 4-1 win on the road.
